Looks like Frodo was lying, and actually never threw the ring into Mount Doom in Mordor. That greedy hobbit just wanted to keep the ring for himself! Gandalf is extremely angry, as he was the one who caught Frodo rubbing it in his hands. He demanded that he handed the ring over! Frodo refused, and this is where Gandalf gives Frodo a black eye. Luckily, Frodo isn’t pressing charges due to his new shame. Extremely outraged that Frodo was deep down just a greedy hobbit, Gandalf is now looking for a new Fellowship of the Ring to ensure that the Ring is thrown into the deep blazing fires of Mount Doom.
